4 Lessons I Learned My Big Chops.

I do not know how often I cut my hair. It's actually sad how many times I've cut my hair. This is big chop number I lost count. It's something about getting your haircut it makes you feel like a whole new person. However, I actually experienced cutting my hair so many times to the point where I know who I am regardless whether I have hair on my head or absolutely nothing. I've cut my hair off down to a buzz cut, a TWA, and where I am now this little cross between a buzz cut and a TWA in my opinion. I love my hair at this length I can do anything with this big chop I could be invincible. I don't have to worry whether or not I'll have time to do my hair in the morning. Being a mom of 2 boys I have to have something quick and easy and this is something that is exactly that. My hair is extremely curly and it loves conditioner and Shea Butter. So with all those experiences of big chops I learned a few things over the years since 2010 when I actually pulled off my first big chop.

Number one I learned that my hair love growth aids. Hair growth aids are things like biotin, Hairfinity, and Manetabolism. I've actually taken Hairfinity a few years back. I took it for 3 months and it actually worked wonders for my hair. Once I stop taking Hairfinity I ended up taking biotin however biotin just did not do it for me. Taking Biotin and I did not see any results with my hair, I  saw results when it came to the growth and health of my nails. I recently purchased metabolism and I actually used it for a matter of weeks and I did not like the results. I've barely took them but maybe I just need to use it for the same amount of time I use the Hairfinity so that way I can compare both products fairly. I can't really compare them right now.

The next thing I learned about my hair is my eating habits. I love to eat junk food. I don't know what it is but junk food makes the world go round, it makes me dance, it makes me happy, and that's horrible for my hair. When I was eating healthier I saw my hair being softer. My hair  was actually growing. It actually is a proven fact that if you eat good and healthy your hair will grow and sprout because there are actually things in the world called superfoods where your hair can grow and be at its optimum health.

The next thing that I have learned over the years is that my hair loves shea butter. It's a thicker oil however it is the when it comes to sealing things in. Your hair will actually take in the shea butter meaning the nutrients.Petroleum based products seal in moisture but have no real benefit of allowing nutrients in because it seals everything out. That's what I like about shea butter, it's healthy and it's natural so your hair will take that in. Petroleum will just lay on top of your hair so if you know any better stay away from anything that has Petroleum in it. Shea butter is a great petroleum alternative.

The last thing I've learned was to keep things so simple. It's crazy that I've done so much over the years and my hair. It has never really fell off my scalp but I've always cut it off. I have had blue, green, red, orange, purple, and pink hair color. All of these colors and I just did not need to do that to my hair so I need to just keep it very simple if anything just stick to black. I've also seen that I don't need heat in my hair. It does nothing for my curl pattern and actually just stress it out. My curl pattern will not revert after a while. I'll notice that my hair is so much of a loose texture when I use heat on my hair and that's not a good thing ladies. If you guys are getting your Dominican blowouts and stuff like that just remember that if your curl pattern has altered that's not a good thing. Another part of keeping things simple would be to remember to have a set wash day, deep condition day, hot oil treatment day and actually do those things because they make all the difference in the health of your hair.

How many of you guys actually have done a big chop and if you have done a big chop what have you learned about your hair? Tell me in the comments down below.
